Why the Same People Show Up More Than Once

Repeat leads and how targeting can help

1
A Small Area Keeps Reaching the Same Households
When an ad only runs in a small region with specific targets, it keeps reaching the same homeowners. Someone who already clicked sees the ad again, clicks again, and comes through as another lead. That repeat traffic is a healthy sign in one way: the campaign has reached most of the people it can reach in its current footprint. It also means added budget mostly buys second looks from people already in the pipeline.
On this page: each phone number is counted once, credited to its earliest lead, so repeat clicks do not inflate the zip code totals.
2
Target Wide, Then SubtractBest practice
Digital campaigns perform best when they have room to find new people. Opening the targeting to a broader area gives the campaign a steady supply of fresh households and fewer repeat clicks. From there, the results in this report show exactly which zip codes to remove, so spend keeps flowing to the areas that quote and sell.
How we decide: add areas next to the zip codes that already sell, subtract zip codes with steady leads and no quotes, and review zip codes that quote but have not sold before cutting them.

1
Widen the Targeting Around the Winning AreasGOAL
Open the Home targeting to the zip codes and counties next to the areas that already sell, centered on Leander, Round Rock, Hutto, Liberty Hill, Georgetown and west Austin. A wider area gives the campaign new households to reach and cuts down on repeat clicks from the same people. Daily limits stay where they are.
Metric behind it: Williamson County: 246 leads, 70 quoted (28.5%), 12 sold, the most of any county. 27 zip codes have produced a sale.
2
Subtract Zip Codes With Leads and No QuotesGOAL
Remove zip codes that keep sending leads but have not produced a quote, starting with the ones below. As the wider area brings in new results, we keep subtracting the zip codes that do not perform.
Metric behind it: Zip codes with 6 or more leads and no quotes: 75071 Mckinney (15 leads), 78130 New Braunfels (12 leads), 78753 Austin (12 leads), 79936 El Paso (11 leads), 75098 Wylie (10 leads), 79925 El Paso (10 leads), 75019 Coppell (9 leads), 76013 Pantego (9 leads), 75068 Little Elm (8 leads), 75243 Dallas (8 leads).
3
Review Quoted Zip Codes Before Cutting ThemAgency
Look at the quotes given in these zip codes: which carriers were quoted, how the price compared, and whether each one had follow-up. These areas are producing interested homeowners, so a pricing or carrier change may turn them into sales.
Metric behind it: 107 zip codes hold 173 quotes with no sale yet. Largest: 78633 Georgetown (10 quoted), 78665 Round Rock (6 quoted), 78660 Pflugerville (5 quoted), 78645 Lago Vista (4 quoted), 75035 Frisco (4 quoted), 76244 Keller (4 quoted).
4
Keep Uploading Quote and Sale FilesAgency
Keep sending the quote and sale files after each week. Every result in this report comes from matching those files to GOAL leads by phone number, so the more current the files are, the faster we can see which zip codes to add or remove.
Metric behind it: September and October results are likely still filling in; the most recent files are from September 30 and October 16.
How this was built. Every lead from the two Home campaigns (the campaign for current State Farm, Farmers, Progressive or GEICO customers, and the Home lead product for all other homeowners) was matched by phone number to the agency's uploaded quote and sale files. A lead counts as quoted if any file marks it quoted or sold, and as sold if any file marks it sold. Uploaded rows that do not match a GOAL lead are left out, so these counts reflect only leads GOAL delivered. Zip codes come from each lead's address. Zip codes with fewer than 3 leads and no quotes (240 zip codes, 304 leads) are not listed. Leads by campaign: 1,246 from the quote funnel campaign and 202 from the lead product, which began September 11.
